the last day of 04 was spent quite meaningfully. we had a nightwatch thingy at church, combined with the youth fellowship(around 20 years to early 30s). it started off with some light snacks, and afterwards we played several warmup games. it was pretty fun...but afterwards vincent took charge of the sharing and we gathered in a circle. he shared on 3 passages in the bible, and with each one, we were to gather in groups of either 2s,3s or 4s to share with one another. one of the sharings was about thanksgiving, and i thanked God for my results because i think i didn't sow but reaped. that'll give me more motivation to work hard next year....

vincent then shared about God asking Isaiah(i think) a prophet to marry an adulterous woman. the adulterous woman was compared to the israelites, chasing after other gods after the exodus from egypt, in search of the promised land. so its like us, prioritising visible stuff over the unseen. so during the sharing we were to identify our idols, and identify problems in our spiritual life, stuff which hampered us from communicating with God.

vincent then shared on a passage from habakkuk (i think),about the israelites being busy building their own houses instead of building the house of the Lord (church). when compared to us, the church does not mean the building itself but the people, so we figured we were all too busy 'building our own houses'. so during the sharing we were to commit ourselves to different ways we could 'build the house of the Lord' in the coming new year.

i really enjoyed everything. so after the programme ended, it was free and easy and some of the older people went home, but quite a few people stayed over in church. we counted down and played with sparklers. opposite the road there was a KTV and we were like shouting happy new year to each other,,,pretty amusing. we went to chompchomp but it was too crowded so we bought back food, the stingray was good =D so throughout the night we played table tennis, talked, and played zhongjimima. i can't stay up too late, i've no stamina, so i conked out like 3+. the zhongjimima penalty was to drink a cup of water (the stakes were slowly raised to 2,3 cups i think), and by daybreak..2 tubs of water had been DRUNK UP!!!!

yeah...so..happy new year to you all! oh yes, the nanyang gathering was prettttty okay, i left early cuz i had dinneR, but i think it was a cool way to catch up. though i was playing soccer for most of the time hahah. and before i left, jonsng and amy said 'see you on monday' and i was like stunnnneddddddd. thats TWO DAYS AWAYYYYYYY NooooooooooooOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
